Three Planes

All three panels depict the same moment, but through different lenses.

Panel 1: Liam and Jackal make their way through the dark. Jackal has her hands folded together at her waist, and Liam looks around with his dagger held out. Treon, immaterially, perches on Liam’s dagger. In this view the colors are neon bright, with the digital-appearance of an interface like on the previous page. Treon is, in contrast, in a sober palette.

Treon thinks to themself and says, “Now then, I never invited this son-of-a-bitch twink to my world. Sid…Daiki’s Sid?

Liam mutters something, but he can’t perceive Treon.

Treon takes on a lean, abstracted, monstrous shape in their anger as they confirm Liam as the same one who tormented and abused Daiki. Liam continues to mutter to himself. Jackal looks nervous. Treon says, “Ah. Yes.”

Treon returns to a mostly human appearance but with some spectral aspects, and puts a finger on Liam’s chin, looking him in the eye though he can’t look back. Treon says, “I don’t know how you got in here but you fucked up entering my domain.” Liam shivers.

Jackal has her mouth open as if to yell.

Panel 2: It is dark and gray, and Treon is transparent, but all are in the same poses as before. As Treon perches on Liam’s dagger, he mutters, “I know it’s you who turned my boy against me, you little rat.”

As Treon assesses Liam’s identity and personal history, Liam mutters with a mock stammer, “I’m sorry, Miss Kady!”

Jackal begins to glow slightly.

As Treon looks Liam in the eye, Liam mutters, “Blithering bimbo slut. You shoulda stayed dea-“

Panel 3: Pitch black with silhouettes in place of physical bodies. Treon is not evident in this panel. Jackal’s ghost hovers above her reanimated corpse, to which she is bound. Sandra’s soul, which Liam sucked out of her, hovers above Liam.

Jackal crosses her arms protectively in front of herself and says, “Miss Kady?”

Sandra runs her hand through Jackal’s hair and bends toward her with a hateful expression. Her side of the dialog is what Liam mutters. Liam is not aware he is muttering anything. It isn’t hidden from him, he just hasn’t noticed since he isn’t the one causing it.

Sandra looms over Jackal’s ghost, as Jackal’s ghost cowers and covers her head. Sandra has distorted in a malicious way.

Jackal’s ghost takes the form of a wolf and eats Sandra’s soul. This is when Liam shivered, and Jackal’s body has her mouth open as if to yell. Coincidentally, Sandra is in about the same place as Treon, but they have nothing to do with each other.
